Athens This Weekend: May 17 - 19

The weekend is almost here, and we're ready for some fun in the Classic City! Head on over to Athens, Georgia this weekend to stock up on fresh fruits and veggies at the Athens Farmer's Market or to try your hand at classic clay making! And if that isn't enough, enjoy an exciting game of baseball as UGA takes on SEC rival, the Florida Gators. 

Clay Class at Good Dirt

Try Clay, every Friday at Good Dirt, is a wonderful opportunity it is to sit down with family and friends and explore the classic art of clay making! Students at the Good Dirt Clay Class will work directly with terra cotta clay to create one-of-a-kind souvenirs. Join in on the fun Friday, May 17, or any Friday from 7 to 9 p.m. Admission is $20 and registration is required. 

UGA Baseball vs. Florida

If this isn't the perfect weekend for a baseball game in Athens, Georgia, we don't know what is! So grab your friends, pack a snack and come support the UGA baseball team as  they take on the Florida Gators right here in Foley Field. The games will be held Thursday and Friday at 7 p.m. and Saturday at 2 p.m. Admission ranges from $5 to $8. 

Athens Farmer's Market

What better way to spend time with family and friends than a beautiful morning at the Athens Farmer's Market! Featuring naturally grown food, crafts and works of art, there's something for everyone at the Athens Farmer's Market! The Market is open every Saturday from 8 a.m. to noon and admission is free.

Head's up . . . Athens This Weekend: April 26 - 28

It's the last weekend in April, and you know what that means: Athens Twilight! Join more than 30,000 fans as they pack the cozy confines of downtown Athens to witness some of America's best criterium racing. And while you're at it, sample a few of the best foodie venue the Classic City has to offer by participating in the Bucket List Culinary Tour. Trust us, this is one weekend in Athens, Georgia you won't want to miss!

34th Annual Athens Twilight Criterium 

The 34th Annual Athens Twilight weekend is a professional cycling event featuring festival fun for fans, families and racers. Founded in 1980 by Gene Dixon, the Athens Twilight Criterium was the first nighttime race in the United States in more than 60 years. What began as one race with 40 competitors has since grown to offer eight separate race classes and 150 cyclists competing through downtown Athens. Friday's kickoff includes music and a delicious food court, while Saturday features some of America's best criterium racing. 6th Annual Twilight Americana Music Festival

Athens Americana is a four-night music festival featuring Athens, Georgia's finest folk, country, bluegrass and "Americana" acts. This event includes an exciting weekend of shows from your favorite local, regional and national Americana acts. Spring 2013 Bucket Culinary Tour

Join Athens Food Tours for a one-of-a-kind "Bucket List" Tour featuring a list of places to eat before leaving the Classic City. You'll travel via a BYOB bus ride to six of the best loved, locally owned hole-in-the-wall foodie venues Athens has to offer. Ticket purchase includes food at six venues, your bus ticket and a professional party guide. Tickets are $38 per person plus a 15% tour guide gratuity. Athens This Weekend: April 19 - 21

Spring is in full bloom this weekend in Athens, Georgia, and there's no better place to be than the great outdoors! Enjoy the warm weather in all of its glory with a breathtaking journey through the Georgia Antebellum Trail, a calm stroll through the Piedmont Gardeners' Tour or even at the UGA baseball game against Vanderbilt. No matter what you choose, you're bound to have fun in the Classic City sun!

5th Annual Antebellum Trail Pilgrimage

The award-winning Antebellum Trail Pilgrimage features a 100-mile trail filled with breathtaking views and historic landmarks. Journey through some of Georgia's most interesting cities, such as Eatonton, Madison and Milledgeville, where a love of the past and southern hospitality await you. This exciting Pilgrimage will take place April 18 - 21 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.each day. Tickets are $25 and include unlimited access to all events. 

20th Annual Piedmont Gardeners' Garden Tour

The 20th Annual Piedmont Gardeners' Garden Tour features five inspiring gardens in the Athens, Georgia area. Grab your walking shoes, bring a friend and immerse yourself in this self-guided tour filled with garden creativity and ideas. The Piedmont Gardeners' Tour will take place Saturday, April 20 from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. Tickets are $15 in advance and $20 at the door. 

UGA Baseball vs. Vanderbilt

The Georgia Bulldogs are back in action this weekend as they play back-to-back home games right here in Herty Field! Come support the UGA baseball team as they take on SEC rival, Vanderbilt, in the final two games of a three-game series. The two games will take place Saturday, April 20 at 4 p.m. and Sunday, April 21 at 2 p.m. Admission ranges from $5 - $8!
