Athens Fall Fun

With football and festivals, fall is a great time in Athens, Georgia! Check out our list of attractions and events centered around Halloween and celebrating the season!

1. Athens Corn Maze

The Athens Corn Maze is open for the next two weekends from Thursday to Sunday. The property is located just past Georgia Square Mall and features much more than a field of corn! Visitors can enjoy the "Hey Hey Hayride" through the field and play with farm animals. Children can enjoy the unique cornbox as a great alternative to a messy sandbox at the beach! Admission is $10 per person and children under 3 are free every day!

2.  Athens' Haunted History Tour

On October 26 and October 28, The Athens Clarke Heritage Foundation invites you to travel into Athens' past for a look at the haunts and history of the Classic City. During this two-hour tour of Downtown and UGA's North Campus OR Milledge Avenue (two options), you'll learn about the ghosts and scary stories surrounding some of Athens' most famous sights. Tickets for the tours, which begin at 7 p.m. on Friday and Saturday are available online for $15.

3. Wild Rumpus

Let the Wild Rumpus begin! The Wild Rumpus Parade and Spectacle will take over the streets of Downtown Athens at 8 p.m. on Saturday. This event is designed for the wildly creative to put their costumes on display. Wild Rumpus encourages participants to organize in group Brigades, for example: Movie Characters or Zombies. The Georgia Theatre will host an after-party headlined by Of Montreal beginning at 9 p.m. Last year, an estimated 2,000-3,000 participants and spectators contributed to the festivities. Tickets for the after-party are $15.

4. Zombie Farms Halloween Trail

Last call for Zombie Farms! Athens' newest seasonal attraction goes a step beyond a corn maze or haunted house, but it's only open for ONE MORE WEEKEND!  Venture on a guided tour through a farm supported by the tireless labor of zombies. The half-mile Dark Trail will be filled with fog, eerie sounds and, of course, the undead. The farm will be open Friday and Saturday night from 8 p.m. to midnight. Tickets are $16! Don't miss the Zombies!
